America First Policies Takes “Tax Cuts to Put America First” Tour to Columbus, Ohio
America First Policies made its 15th stop on its “Tax Cuts to Put America First” tour on Friday, June 15, at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel in Columbus, Ohio. It was the group's second stop in Ohio; they visited Cleveland in early March.
The series, “Tax Cuts to Put America First,” features guest speakers discussing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—signed into law by President Donald J. Trump in December 2017.
Sheriff David Clarke (Ret.), an America First senior advisor and spokesman, greeted the crowd. The event then featured a panel with U.S. Senator from Ohio, Rob Portman; U.S. Congressmen Warren Davidson (OH-8) and Michael Turner (OH-10); and Bob Kessler, president of Kessler Sign Company. The panel discussed how the tax legislation is affecting Ohio residents, families, businesses, and the nation as a whole.
Following the panel, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine spoke a few words, and Senator Portman introduced the Vice President to a crowd of more than 400 people.
“We cut taxes for working families. Under our plan, the typical family of four here in Ohio is going to save more than $2,200 a year on their taxes,” said the Vice President.
