America First Policies Announces the “Great American Comeback Tour”
Policy events throughout the country with special guests. First event includes Vice President Michael R. Pence
America First Policies is beginning the “Great American Comeback Tour” with special guest, Vice President Michael R. Pence at our first event in Pennsylvania. These important policy events follow the successful “Tax Cuts to put America First” and “USMCA: A Better Deal for America Workers” policy events American First Policies conducted in 2018 and 2019. The “Great American Comeback Tour” will take place across the country, featuring special guests from the Trump Administration, along with federal, state, and local elected officials and private sector experts, to mobilize and educate citizens behind policies that will drive America’s economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first stop will be in Sarver, Pennsylvania on June 12th at Oberg Industries.
“The latest jobs report only highlights how eager Americans are to get back to work and open their businesses. America First Policies has laid out a ‘Great American Comeback’ agenda that includes important steps Congress can take to help supercharge our economic recovery,” said Brian O. Walsh, President of America First Policies. “Learn more at www.GreatAmericanComebackTour.org.”
According to a new poll commissioned by America First Policies, Americans overwhelmingly support conservative policies aimed at restarting our economy.
Two-thirds of respondents (67%) believe their state and local economies are opening at the correct pace or not quickly enough.
On economic policies the American public overwhelmingly support the following, currently being debated in Congress:
“Here are some proposals that have been made to improve the American economy. Please tell me whether you support or oppose each.”
Moreover, a majority of respondents favor changes to federal unemployment benefits to encourage economic growth, rather than provide an incentive for the unemployed to stay out of the labor market:
“Do you think that people who have lost their jobs as a result of the COVID-19 shutdown should receive unemployment benefits equal to, more than, or less than their previous wages?”
Sixty-one percent of participants polled have not had their health, or the health of someone they know impacted by the coronavirus, however, 70% of those polled have had their job, or the job of someone they know, personally impacted by the coronavirus.
The survey was conducted May 23-25, 2020 with a margin of error +/- 3.46%.
Americans want to get back to work and reignite the American economy. America First Policies looks forward to joining with special guest Vice President Mike Pence to highlight these concerns, elevate the economic policy proposals that work, and listen to the needs of small businesses and their employees across the country.
